To be considered for Fall 2024 Issue of the SULR, please submit by our deadline of 11:59 p.m. PST on October 6th, 2024.
Early submissions are highly encouraged!
Submission guidelines
We accept high-quality and insightful submissions that take legal perspectives on a wide range of issues, from arguments on specific court decisions, to doctrinal or theoretical legal scholarship, to interdisciplinary articles that address contemporary issues in politics, economics, and society with a legal focus.
Undergraduate students from any school worldwide are eligible to submit!
Resubmission of class essays is permitted assuming compliance with your instructor and school policy.
If you have also submitted your piece to another publication, please inform us if you have been selected for publication by their team. We do not republish articles.
Applicants may submit multiple works for consideration.
We will consider papers with footnotes or parenthetical citations, but the author must independently convert them to endnotes before beginning the editing process.

Review process
Works are anonymized and reviewed by SULR editors. Decisions will be communicated to prospective authors via email. Accepted pieces will undergo two rounds of editing before the issue’s final publication.
